1961 Johnny Hallyday ‘Certains l’aiment chaud’

Here’s a short 12-minute documentary on Johnny Hallyday on the French current affairs tv programme ‘Cinq colonnes à la une’ from the 08 Sept 1961.

Two performances surround an interview apparently taken upstairs at the Golf Drouot club, the French Mecca of rock’n’rollers, where the interviewer remarks “You sing in a dinner jacket but you still roll on the ground, doesn’t that seem incompatible to you?’ … ! Johnny’s first perfomance is in Paris where you get a good look at the fans as well as a disturbance that brings in la police. The second performance is at the Casino of Saint-Raphael on the French Riviera.
