1970s, 1980s Later Vince Taylor performances

‘Abracadabra Rock n Roll’ (1976), a short (15-min) documentary on Vince Taylor made by French film-maker Olivier Lorquin can be seen here. It includes clips of Eddie Barclay, the French impresario of rock’n’roll of the early 1960s, head of the influential Barclay label, as well as Moustique, a one-time rock’n’roll singer from the same era.

19.Feb.1978 ‘tutti frutti’ performance on French tv programme ‘Blue Jean’

23.Sep.1979 ‘brand new cadillac’ – ‘c’mon everybody’ – ‘blueberry hill’ – ‘long tall Sally’ – ‘hound dog’ – ‘money honey’ – ‘sweet little sixteen’ at a concert at the Théâtre de l’Empire, Paris

c.1980 (?) ‘brand new Cadillac’ from French tv programme ‘Les Enfants du Rock’

1981 ‘money, honey’ – ‘twenty flight rock’ – ‘brand new cadillac’ – ready, teddy’ from the short film ‘Docteur Rock et Mister Roll’ by Jacques Richard. There seems to have been a plan to act and a storyline but the director must have realised there was no controlling Vince who was determined to be Vince. This is Vince Taylor at his wackiest on film, but not untypical of his usual demeanour by all accounts. He just talks like an incoherent drunk and during an interview he strums his guitar singing ‘I’m a nut’). Despite the unfocused rants and weakened singing voice, he is still quite the performer.

1981 ‘that’s allright, mama’ (with weird interviewer)

1981 ‘money honey’ on the regional FR3 Normandie French tv program ‘Version Originale’ presented by Michel Gosselin (aka Gogo) at the Caen tv studios. Vince sang 3 or 4 songs in playback from his 1980 album ‘Luv’ (Big Beat label).

1981 ‘money, honey’ on French tv show ‘Récré à 2’

clips of footage of a concert of unknown date (c.1980) accompanying ‘space invaders’, his final 1982 single.
