A little word here, some of these sites are no longer attainable. Let’s chance a guess ; an older bloke with a lifetime passion and dedication sets up a web-site and then one day they are hospitalised or they die. Result, whatever payments to keep their site running soon stop and the website is forever lost. It’s about time we thought about this problem and solved it … I’m thinking of giving the rights to host ‘The Lone Lamp’ site to the National Library of Wales, who have a scheme for preserving useful websites (from what I understand, it does not mean that they ‘own’ it, so much as they can preserve it after the maker cannot continue to run it). All that said, those sites below which no longer function will be marked by a ‘strikethrough’.
